She got her Bricks, Eggs and Blocks

Our canned goods at home are yena's improvised bricks and blocks toys.. It has been her pacifier for those playtime nights..
But she has to give it up and say goodbye to can buildings she has been making..
Last night, i went to the mall to buy her the real toys she deserves: brick, blocks and eggs.. Oh my.. she love them all!

Mommy Moments - Sentimental Mommy Moment

mommy moments

For the very emotional moment of my life as a mom, am sharing with you a letter i wrote to my six months old yena the day she fell from our bed. I have posted this to my other blogs but for Mommy Moments theme this friday, am posting it here again. Reading this always brought me to tears. If you want to cry with me, go on reading...

Dearest Yena,

(baby yena, this is what i used to call you that made you always look around and smile. you would always smile just hearing my voice, by this i know that as much as i love you, you love me back no less!)

(i am writing this now preparing for the time you would ask me things, by details id trust my memory on that, i hope you can read it when you're older, and by that time spank me just to get even to your mommy, it's alright baby.. i know i deserve it!)

hi my baby!

as i am writing this, my eyes are shedding tears. even crying a river now will not changed what had happened last night. while i know that my tears are not an excuse for being so carefree less careless mother to you, please accept my deepest apology. what happened last night would be the last, this i assure you.

i cannot believe how it happened so fast. i was so careful all the time, and on that fateful split second i saw you on the floor. i will not forgive myself from hearing your wails so loud that it almost struck my heart and soul. i was so hurt seeing you in pain, i spent the night looking at you, quietly sobbing careful not to wake you up, embracing and smelling you.

your daddy and mamato was so angry at me and to what happened. but little did they know that i was angrier to myself. i am asking for forgiveness from you, to your dad and to your grandma but most of all i beg forgiveness to God for contemplating suicide right after what happened. i know, it will not change things, but i cannot bear to hear you cry and i be better dead than see you in pain..

baby, i love you so much. know that i will never allow anyone to hurt you and i am so idiot cause i was the one who hurt you that much the first time.

please forgive mommy, and please look back or look around again when you hear me call you.. 'baby'

love you 'til my lastest breath,
mommy

A letter to my 15 months old daughter

Dearest my Yena,
Now you walk independently around the house and would dance while walking. Am so nervous to see you walk alone, but I realized falling is part of the process of learning how to walk. So am just looking at you eyes half closed. But you are showing you can do it, and yes you do it proudly every time but you always take my breath away. :)

You are so mature for fifteen months: Am so proud to share that one night upon arriving home from work you surprisingly gave daddy his pair of slippers and tried to slip them into his feet. And while I was washing the dishes one night you surprise me too when you wiped the wet floor with rugs beside my feet!! How did you learn to help around the house?! I know this is a good sign, I will have a little helper in you soon!

For many months now you watch Barney but now in full action, you are humming and dancing and lying in front means you are getting bored. You can play alone with your toys with less supervision. Though i have all my eyes fixed on you. And when I gave you a toy box to keep your toys, you did it! And create the mess again, I know that is the child in you!

Last night, I watched you sleep and smiled cause even if you occupy our whole bed, your daddy would wake up in the middle of the night and see you always at the farthest ends of the bed. You are very very mobile.

I know you understand every words we say cause you know already that a NO means to stop doing what you are not supposed to do, sometimes you would stop with a frown on your face. You would nod when asked if you like to have you milk. Your nods mean Yes to every question. When told to stop playing and its sleeping time already, with a pleading eyes you would lie down on your bed. You are very obedient child. When asked to wave hi or goodbye you would follow it with a flying kiss even when not asked. You are very familiar with WHERE word. When asked where is mom, dad, cousins, moon, stars, toys etc you would playfully point at them one by one!

You thought the little sto nino is also a kid like you. You would wave at every sto nino you see. And you adore pets so much, you are always delighted to touch them. You wave at fishes at the market and would beam at the biggest one. Pets have different names for you, we call cat as Garfield, dog as Yuki and cow as Mr Cow. You love to hug and kiss your teddy bear Chubby and rabbit stuff toy Christine. You know how to imitate the sound of a lizard, chicken, and cow. You snore loudly when asked what is the sound of sleeping yena. You would scream when asked what is the sound of a fish, coz mom was screaming while we were playing fishing game with our nancy laptop. :)

You are learning that a frown and firm words from daddy means to behave. I still remember when you threw a fit at first but now you are very tame when daddy is around. You are a little snob sometimes and am hoping that will change. I want you to grow to be friendly like your daddy. You are also a jealous little baby, coz you would cry when I would hug your cousins in front of you. I would laugh at you, feeling so high cause I know that as much as I love you, you love me too!

Know that for every step of the way, me and daddy will always be with you. WE love you so much our dear little boss of the house! Happy 15 months old!

Love,
Mommy

Walking alone!!

Yena is finally walking alone all over the house now! With that comes two things, good thing is that she is finally independent, bad thing is- she is trying to be very independent that leaves me worried she might fall and might get nervous about walking alone again. But thanks God, i can see my little girl growing up the way she should be.. a little snob sometimes but she is being tamed, thanks to husband!

Taken at my in laws, easter sunday after lunch.

Yena loves the beach!

Yena with her two-piece swimsuit on! :)

Begging her Auntie to come near the water!!

Enjoying the ride and dipping merrily in the water! :)

Unlike our trip last year she loves the beach now, it was hard getting her out of the water! :)

Yena with Kuya Patchik

Kuya Patchik is Yena's cousin. From among husband's nephews, i can see how much Patchik adores Yena. Oh well, Patchik was the one who wrote me letter telling he intend to marry me and take me away from his uncle, such naughty kid. Hahah.

They enjoy each other's company and Yena really loves hanging out with him too.

See how he carefully holds her hands and keeping her from stoney sands :) So sweeet of him!

They look so good together. NOw i have to keep this photo and show them when they're both older. Nice cousin bonding, yey! :)
