Spending a little on something so big!

Weekends for my little family mean bonding time in front of my beloved laptop. My daughter loves barney, spongebob and dora so much she can watch her cds all day! On the other hand, my husband became addicted to movies when we got married. He can watch all greek mythologies and the likes all day long. I am not complaining though, giving them some time to watch their favorites give me some quality time for myself, which is reading or doing the usual house chores. It’s chaotic to see us every weekend especially if my daughter would like to watch barneys and the husband would watch his dvds too.

Now I want to pull the holiday season immediately. It gives me the reason to buy that most sought after LCD TV, and I have been promising husband we would get charter that offers over 6,000 movies and shows we could watch anytime we would want to. I am so excited to see one of my favorite heroes shows, that even If I miss one episode I could watch it the next day on charter for free! Flying tomorrow!

I don’t like to admit, but tomorrow is my first time to ride an airplane. It will be my 21 month’s old daughter’s first time too! We will be singing Barney’s song of – “oh we are flying in an airplane, looking at the window, watching the clouds go by”. I have been singing that song nonstop and I feel like a fool today. Might be am so scared of flying or it’s just those butterflies in my stomach excited to take their wings too. I worry also of thinking that there is a threat of another typhoon tomorrow! How could a typhoon possibly choose weekends for coming over our country?!

Anyways, my dilemma of bringing my laptop Nancy tomorrow has come to its final conclusion. I will bring her! There is a free wifi at our accommodation, which I am very thankful for! I wonder if they get their wireless adapter from Newegg promotion code but having an internet connection while on vacation is a plus factor for a blogging addict like me!

Now ask me if I am ready to fly tomorrow, and I would beam with pride that even if I don’t feel very well since yesterday, I manage to prepare all three bags full of our must haves! Thus we will be flying tomorrow by hook or by crook! Wish us well please.

Where to Find Latika's Dress?

I am a fan. Yes, Slumdog Millionaire who bags almost all the awards at Oscars moved me. I specially love the part when Latika was being taught how to dance, with that very nice Indian dress. So I searched the net and found out that it actually looks like a salwar.

At this very early, my 17 months old daughter loves to wear dress. It is always a struggle to make her wear jeans. Now I guess it’s time to buy her a nice Indian clothes like a salwar, I want her to look like Latika. Forgive me but I really like Latika and the way she dances. A fun party and a mother's dream!

January'09 picture with my friends way back college days, the baby carried by the lady in red, is the birthday celebrant yesterday! He turned 1! :)

We went to a friend’s first birthday party yesterday. Picture this; I have a bag full of must-haves for my 17 months old daughter in my right and my daughter in my left. If you can’t still picture it out, imagine a skinny mother holding the two while walking under the scorching heat of the sun. It was the hottest day I could ever imagine, to think that my daughter was wearing a nice jumper at that! Whew! Good thing one of my best buddies was with me.

I wasn’t able to take any pictures; I was so preoccupied with a lot of things. Anxious that my daughter shouldn’t sweat that much or if she sweat I have a hanky ready to wipe them all out. I worried she might get sick after that tiring travel. But it was fun, on the way to the party she was sleeping while i was dreaming of having our own car someday. It will be a comfortable trip for all of us and she wouldn’t mind the heat! I was thinking of buying even a second hand car and I will just repaint it to my favorite lavender color. It will not be hard i heard of great things about Houston Auto Body service, I know they can pimp my ride well!

Through Paintings We Bond

Now let me tell you a little secret. I don’t usually tell this and I won’t share it again. Sometime ago when I was in high school, I used to join an artist’s contest. Yes, once upon a time in my life my classmates used to praise my artistic side. I wasn’t proud of it, actually every moment before the contest starts I felt the fear of losing coz I don’t feel so artistic enough to compete. I don’t have the confidence coz I wasn’t used to do arts in my young life. Luckily, I always won. Call it luck!

So at this early, I want to instill art to my daughter Yena. I want her to embrace art and learn to be artistic. I don’t give her all the toys any toy shop offers, I know she has to learn to play make-believe it is by this that she learn to see the beauty of anything through imagination. And when she is ready it will be our bonding time to see different works of arts. Sunday has always been busy day for my family. It will always be the day of going to church, and it has been a must to do. My husband doesn’t fail to surprise me, coz for times when I feel so tired going to church he would tell me that serving God should never be tiring. How can you resist attending and celebrating God’s day when all has been given to you in each right place? That is my husband talking can you believe it? I have a very god-fearing husband, if I may add.

I have a catholic friend who turns out to be a Christian now. She has been very religious and for time would ask me to join them on their Sunday fellowships. As conflict of schedule arises I just cannot get a chance, but I would love too. Meeting Christian is like meeting a new happy and content person in real life. They have all the nice things to say, and I think that is a plus for making friends.
