Yena loves Water!

Yena enjoyed her swimming time at home when my sister whom she calls MamMa prepared their inflatables. That was her trying to kiss Dora!
But because she has lots of cousins who would like to dip into the water..
We placed her pink bath tub out of the house for her to enjoy herself..

While her cousin Yael was beside her on his own blue bath tub.
its already rainy season here but it is still hot! I guess saturdays will be swimming time for the kids! :)

A fun party and a mother's dream!

January'09 picture with my friends way back college days, the baby carried by the lady in red, is the birthday celebrant yesterday! He turned 1! :)

We went to a friend’s first birthday party yesterday. Picture this; I have a bag full of must-haves for my 17 months old daughter in my right and my daughter in my left. If you can’t still picture it out, imagine a skinny mother holding the two while walking under the scorching heat of the sun. It was the hottest day I could ever imagine, to think that my daughter was wearing a nice jumper at that! Whew! Good thing one of my best buddies was with me.

I wasn’t able to take any pictures; I was so preoccupied with a lot of things. Anxious that my daughter shouldn’t sweat that much or if she sweat I have a hanky ready to wipe them all out. I worried she might get sick after that tiring travel. But it was fun, on the way to the party she was sleeping while i was dreaming of having our own car someday. It will be a comfortable trip for all of us and she wouldn’t mind the heat! I was thinking of buying even a second hand car and I will just repaint it to my favorite lavender color. It will not be hard i heard of great things about Houston Auto Body service, I know they can pimp my ride well!

Through Paintings We Bond

Now let me tell you a little secret. I don’t usually tell this and I won’t share it again. Sometime ago when I was in high school, I used to join an artist’s contest. Yes, once upon a time in my life my classmates used to praise my artistic side. I wasn’t proud of it, actually every moment before the contest starts I felt the fear of losing coz I don’t feel so artistic enough to compete. I don’t have the confidence coz I wasn’t used to do arts in my young life. Luckily, I always won. Call it luck!

So at this early, I want to instill art to my daughter Yena. I want her to embrace art and learn to be artistic. I don’t give her all the toys any toy shop offers, I know she has to learn to play make-believe it is by this that she learn to see the beauty of anything through imagination. And when she is ready it will be our bonding time to see different works of arts. I know this painting by Philippe Bertho, whose paintings create a world where the whimsical meets the witty, a juncture between the fanciful and the eccentric through his 3d canvass. An art my daughter will surely love and enjoy. Look at Bertho's painting and imagine.. What was he thinking while painting this? Isn't this lovely? I love it!

Attack of the Mouth Blisters

Yena has mild fever since thursday night and has been excessively salivating. We thought she is again teething. Friday afternoon my mother saw some blisters and again it is an agony of seeing my daughter cries for almost the whole weekend that weakens me.

She has mouth sprays which her previous pedia prescribed on her herpangina checkup last january, we used it on her but then when she lost voice because of unstoppable crying even when carried we rushed her to her pedia saturday. It was hard to see her crying and not even your touch and comforting words can stop her from crying. I was sad to see her milk consumption of 5 bottles a day lessen to not more than 3 bottles. And what's more sad than leaving her this morning to my mother coz i have to report to work. :(

I just hope that she feels better today.

Tips to prevent Mouth Blisters

I have been hoping and wishing to spare my daughter of any sickness I can possibly imagine. It is her second time to have herpangina or mouth blisters. Mouth blisters commonly crop up due to temperature change, it has been raining for quite some time at our place but for sometimes it was way too hot. For that I have been wishing to have our little house an air condition. I know it is a must and I must work on it double time. I cannot endure another herpangina attack on my daughter most especially when the summer time comes.

Timely, Nashville HVAC Air Conditioning is an answer to my queries regarding air conditioning needs. It is not as easy as purchasing an air condition and fixing it at home, someone somewhere needs the expertise of a professional contractor but on an affordable price. Nashville HVAC Contractor are a locally owned HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration company that began service to the middle Tennessee area since 1996. It all began with the partnership of three service technicians that had a belief that quality service and installations could be provided to their customers at a reasonable price. Their belief still holds true today, with over 50 employees providing quality service that is truly priceless.

Mommy Moments - That's my Dad!

mommy moments

Just in time for the Father's Day celebration, Mommy Moments features all the daddy's we so adore. It is entitled That's My Dad so i guess i have to let our daughter Yena do the talking now. So here's her piece..
Above all, my daddy knows how to handle my tantrums. When he calls my name with a rough voice i should stop whatever am doing and look at him, if he isn't smiling i have to behave. If i can charm him with my smile and pout i can carry on to whatever foolishness am doing, but if its the wiring and the laptop am playing with i know i have to stop asap.

He is the clown of the house, but i see him getting serious when am sick. He is my favorite playmate coz he knows where to tickle me. I love when he cuddles me, kisses me all over and hug me tightly. I wonder if he knew how much i love him, coz Pap Pa, Mam Ma and Mam Mey are the few words i can utter presently.. But he ought to know i love him coz that is what i feel every time. I love to hug him every now and then and greet him good morning with a kiss.

I love seeing him and Mam mey laughing, hugging and cuddling while watching movies every weekends, the sweetest scene i can watch over and over again. I love him and am so blessed to have him as my father. I love you dad dey! You are the best! Happy Father's Day!

Chocolatey Face

When my officemate and fellow blogger Madam Beng gave me some chocolates on her first day back at office, i kept some of it as pasalubong to my little one at home.
She loves sweets so it is not a surprise to see her this happy with chocolates.
Look at her tummy, evidence of her unending eating time, she loves food and enjoys eating everything! :)
When the chocolates were all gone, she looked like begging and asked for more!

Why are You wearing mommy's shoes?

Remember that commercial on TV? I do! Now am the one asking that question to my 16 months old daughter, who always get my doll shoes at the rack and wear them around the house. :) My only consolation is that the shoes is flat.. i will have a heart attack when i see her wear my shoes with heels. heheh

Yena Wearing Ninang Liz Gifts

When Yena's godmother, Liz, arrived last month, husband and I went home with a big plastic bag of hand me down clothes for Yena, three pairs of black shoes and shorts for husband and a cute mini bag for me. Mareng Liz and I met for the first time and it was like we've known each other for so long. Blog really moves people! I found a gem in my blogging friend and kumare, Mareng Liz! Mare, thanks so much for the gifts! :)

It is a quest for me to capture her every sunday and show here what does she looks like with those pretty jeans and dress.. :)Here wearing the nice brown pants! :)

And her favorite floral dress which she wore last sunday.

PS: There are more pictures to capture since Yena has lots of clothes to wear from her Ninang Liz.. If i can only let her wear them at once and capture them. But my daughter has worst moods when it comes to dressing. So i have to wait every sunday. Heheh

Working on a Cabinet for my Daughter

I have been dreaming of this for so long. I really wanted our daughter to have her own closet anytime soon. As she is getting bigger, her clothes space that accompany my husband’s and my closet has been very, very crammed full already. I know she has to have her own space, I might be teaching her to fold and keep her own clothes if she has the interest already and I know her own cabinet is a must.

Luckily my brother in law knew a little about carpentry by then I could contain myself with that. Plus he wouldn’t charge me that much, what are relatives are for? Hmm, My little daughter would have her own closet; I am excited by the thought.

Into the bargain, Austin Cabinets are also into this cabinet making that is creating a buzz now in cabinet making industry. They offer great designs with affordable prices. Austin Cabinets is an expert at designing and constructing custom made cabinets for every client’s needs. Cabinet making and custom design, is by far the most searched service in the internet, considering almost everybody wants to beautify and maximized their own closet space. This is also the best deal for those who wanted some change in their kitchen cabinets at home!

Mommy Moments - Time Out with Friends

mommy moments
On this weeks theme. I would like to say Yena's friends are her cousins from my side and her daddy's side. Picture below are some of Yena's many cousins whom i'd like to say, her friends for life too.
Our weekends mean our little family bonding time. Sunday morning starts at the church with husband's family which means bonding with her cousins from daddy's side after the mass. Hey, yena is the youngest from among the 8 cousins from her dad's side. See how they bond here.

Night time would mean a visit from my sister's two kids. Yena only has two cousins from my side. Here's usual sight while they are watching their favorite barney!

Yena's Car

What i love about this last weekend was the weather, it was raining all afternoon that we spent the entire day sleeping, cuddling and ticking each other's bones. Yena hates sleeping and always choose to play around. While ironing our clothes she make do of the flat iron's box and ride on it like a car! :)

She even get hold of her little stuff toy Yona and make sounds while riding on it..

And when i told her to pose and smile, this was what she gave me! I have a very naughty daughter i know :)
